Studio visit Sophie Whettnall : October 24th
Sculpture, Photography, Video, Drawings, are all part of Sophie Whettnall’s practice.
She lives in Brussels where she has a studio that used to be a factory of horse-drawn caravans. It then became the headquarters of the WWF and finally the architect Pierre Lhoas transformed the studio for her.
Sophie Whettnall pushes the limit of each medium in her installations, sculptures and videos. She explores the invisible with light and shadow effect but also creates tension between nature and architecture.
She has been exhibited in prestigious locations such as Fondation Miro in Barcelona or Casa Velazquez in Madrid. Sophie was invited to the Belgian Pavilion at the Universal Exhibition in Shanghai but also showed in the 52nd Biennale of Venice and many others. She now is part of group show « Comme si de rien n’était’ at the Museum Van Buuren in Brussels.
